Before work started on staircase

This is what the staircase looked like before work was started.

Finished staircase

This is the finished project after replacing handrails, newels, caps and exchanging panels for spindals. This was a very complicated job which took alot of thought and work to get right and get the quality to a high standard. All the machining of the job was done at my joinery company (Jacobs Joinery) which included producing all the wood sections. This job included cutting the orginal newel off at certain hight from the floor and doweling a new timber section on, inserting handrails into mortices and fixing them off, cutting all spindals in at the correct angle and covering all fixings so they can not be seen when staircase is varnished. This job was made to the highest quality possible however there were a few things that could not be helped which was mainly getting the original newel to match up to the new section as the grain was different and the orginal newel was not square. Hopefully the strength of the newel will still be good however by doing this procedure it can not be garanteed.

Before Work started on wardrobe

This was the original wardrobe before it was modernised.

Wardrobe finished

Here is a wardrobe revamp I done recently, the original panelling was cut away and replaced by 2 bigger wardrobe doors which were produced at my joinery shop Jacobs joinery. They were made out of MDF so they will not expand or decrease in size throughout the years and the quality of the painted finish will be good. This gave alot more access to the wardrobe for more storage. Inside I put tonk strip which means the shelves I made can be moved up or down as required. The draw seen below was taken apart, reduced in size to allow it to open and close on runners giving it smooth movement rather than wriggling it in and out, the handles were changed and a new face was put on for a cleaner looking finish. The top cupboard doors were re hung to open and close properly, new handles were put on to make them look batter and a magnetic clip was put on to hold them closed.
The customer painted the bottom part red and hadn't got to the top when this photo was taken.
